Baking times will be a little longer in your stoneware pie plate than in a metal pie pan, but your pie or quiche will bake evenly and your crust will not be in danger of burning.  Your food will develop a lovely, browned exterior. Moisture is drawn away from food for light and crispy results. You will want to serve your pie or quiche right out of the pan, as it is pleasant to look at and will keep your food warm for a long time.  Just be careful to serve portions and not pass the plate unless it has cooled off.

 

Stoneware is safe to use in conventional ovens, convection ovens, microwave ovens, and is freezer-safe and dishwasher safe.   Stoneware needs to come to room temperature before you take it from the freezer to the oven, otherwise there is danger of cracking.
